Games Night Fun!

26th of March - Whether it was a an exciting card game, a boisterous board game, pinning the tail on the donkey, a round of celebrity heads or telling your best joke… an incredibly good time was had by all last night at Mt Eccles Hall!

Drinks, laughter, friendly competition and amiable banter flowed freely.

We were also joined by local South Gippsland Councillor Adrian Darakai who partook in the festivities and shared a joke of his own!

A thank you to all who attended last night, and for your lovely words of praise and thanks. We hope to ‘play’ with you all again soon!

ANZAC Day Commemoration, 25/04/21

A day of reflection, a day of remembrance and a day to proudly say 'lest we forget'.

The Mt Eccles committee would like to extend it's deepest thanks to the many, many people who joined us to commemorate ANZAC day.

The day was opened by the Hall President Nikki Williams, and then kindly and professionally MC'd by David Lewis.

Alan McGuiness was the guest speaker, who shared his incredibly moving family stories and the gruelling experiences of the Sandakan Death Marches. His PowerPoint presentation and extensive talk proved to be both informative and poignant.

Wreaths were then laid by various families and descendants of war veterans. The weather allowed the attendees to gather outside for the rest of the day's important proceedings, including the recital of the Ode, the playing of the bugle, the singing of the national anthems and the raising of the flag.

To conclude, everyone returned inside to share a cuppa and enjoy Anzac biscuits.

This beautiful and special event was made possible due to the generosity of many people, and the committee would like to extend their deepest thanks:

Picnic on the Mount - a great success!

The music, the games and the laughter could be heard all across Mt Eccles yesterday evening as friends came together to enjoy wine, good food & even better company!

After surveys were kindly completed, a most successful & incredibly entertaining auction was facilitated by the ever engaging, professional and talented young Tom O’Halloran, raising far more than expected! Thank you Tom O'Halloran! You were exceptional!

Then, the dance floor was the place to be as DJ Marco hit the tunes! Yes, we Nutbushed & Macarena’d under a magical moon.

What an incredibly wonderful time had by all! A huge congratulations, thank you & well done to the committee for such an amazing function! Looking forward to our next one already!

Australia Day BBQ, 2021

An Australia Day commemoration, come cloud, rain or... rain! 🇦🇺🌧
In the true Aussie spirit, despite inclement weather, dozens of friends and family gathered yesterday at the Hall to welcome, remember and reflect on Australia’s national day.
This included an important acknowledgment of this country’s first people, and the significance of the land on which we gathered.
Vice President Peter Cooksley spoke eloquently and from the heart about his experiences as a person relatively new to this great land, and this was warmly received and appreciated .
The BBQ kept on firing & cooking thanks to Merv’s ingenuity who ensured it remained sheltered from the rain. And the freshly brewed coffee, which would rival any hipster Melbourne cafe, was also a great hit...thanks to our resident barista Marianne! ☕️
Overall, the event had a most warm & welcoming atmosphere and was enjoyed by all in attendance.
Thank you to the committee for their work in making this event possible.

Pizza Night

Thanks to all those who attended this years Pizza Night. A great turnout that was thoroughly enjoyed. Cheers to the chefs at Wheelie Good Pizzas for ensuring everyone had their fill of wood fired pizzas.
